Rough in terms of tinkering and requires restarts for good FPS, but perfectly playable.
env RADV_PERFTEST=nosam VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv %command%
The game tends to randomly lose FPS to about 20 or so after a few hours of gameplay, usually after going into the menu. Restarting fixes that.
The game crashes sometimes, on average once every 8-10 hours. That's a hard crash that loses video signal and requires a forced restart, so it's something with video drivers.
You can get HDR to work if you try really hard. Here's how:
- Make sure your hardware supports HDR, of course.
- Install plasma 6.
- Follow this guide.
- Ensure DD2 fullscreen settings are set to "borderless window".
- When running Steam through gamescope, use the following commandline:
env ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 gamescope --adaptive-sync -r <your_refresh_rate> -f --hdr-enabled --hdr-debug-force-output --hdr-debug-force-support --force-grab-cursor --steam -- env ENABLE_GAMESCOPE_WSI=1 DXVK_HDR=1 DISABLE_HDR_WSI=1 steam
Other than bad performance, no issues.
Framerate dips down to 20s sometimes. I don't know if it's because of Wine or just a crappy port.
Crashed once near the start.
Select the "install GFWL manually" option first time you run the game. Make sure you run this on a fresh wineprefix (delete the "8080" prefix).

Slightly choppy intro videos. Otherwise works perfectly fine.
After a 6+ hour continuous session sound starts popping noticeably. Longstanding wine bug, not much of a bother, restarting the game fixes it.
Broken because of BattleEye
BattleEye complains about not being able to initialize its kernel driver, then quits.
At launch the game might complain that it failed to find UPlay. It seems to be an issue on Windows as well, to fix that run the game's UPlay installer (<game directory>/Data/Support/UplayInstaller.exe/
) with Proton in the game's prefix (<steamdir>/steamapps/compatdata/965310/pfx
).
