I got stuck on the loading screen. To fix it, go to local files, go to the "Videos" folder and delete "Startup_Sequence_Loading.mp4"
Just launch and you can play it.
For mods, Thunderstore is not available on Linux, you can opt for r2modman which does the same thing.
Good
Due to EA App, you may need to relaunch the game after launching it as EA App may crash on launch.

I failed to export the highlights
Whether in the menus or in game, I sometimes have lags. The launch options allow you to reduce them but I still have occasional lags.
The game lags in the menus and it is impossible to start a new game
Removed "eversim.avi" and "intro.avi" and refused to install xvid codecs.

The game doesn't like it when you switch windows if the game is in full-screen windowed mode.
I think that cloud backups with 2K don't work, but I'm not sure.
Don't play with the native Linux version of the game. It's no longer updated, so latest DLCs won't work and you won't be able to play with your friends. Play with the Windows version, thanks to Proton.
Installed DirectPlay, a component required for multiplayer mode
Ugly textures despite high graphics settings
Big lag
Lags and freeze
The game runs fine on Linux but EA App transforms each launch into a DnD-style dice roll.

Sometimes I have to reset EA App because it no longer wants to launch.
Sometimes, EA App launches then crashes without launching the game.
The game takes ages to get started. The fault is EA App which also takes its time. Note that it consumes quite a bit of RAM unlike what is required on Windows.
To access the game folders for mods, it is located at "/steamapps/compatdata/1222670/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuse/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4"

The content of the in game store is not downloadable or installable but it is not linked to Linux
My computer completely froze when logging in with EA App. I was able to fix this by disabling the Steam overlay.
Steam installs an old version of the Ubisoft launcher (Uplay, thanks Ubisoft for the old touch). Personally, I had to download Ubisoft Connect and launch it in the prefix. It's quite simple, you put the Ubisoft Connect setup inside the prefix (most often, .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/339230/pfx/drive_c) then just ask Protontricks to help you launch the explorer inside it and launch the setup like any Windows installer
Less than 10 Fps To put in quotes because I played with a graphics card below that required (GTX 1650)
Again I didn't have the required graphics card at all, this can run just fine on a suitable machine
