Use protontricks to delete your prefix, set the game to use GE proton and launch
Game just wouldn't launch without killing the prefix first. Tried installing .net and all the other "fixes" posted by others.
A friend also had to do the same, only issue they have now is their microsoft wheel causes the game to crash when you start a race (works fine in menus with wheel and can get into race when not connected)
don't alt tab, the game doesn't restore properly
Stutters in the menus, mouse moves slow, briefing text is slow (on missions that dont use fmv)
Crashes after a few seconds, either to desktop or you have to end task

Saves were slow when initially using GE-Proton7-53, switched to GE-Proton8-3 and saves are fast
Game loads slow when initially running GE-Proton7-53 but changing to GE-Proton8-3 solved this issue
Lost connection to host a few times, Don't think this has anything to do with proton / wine
Just make sure you're using the latest GE-Proton

Had some disconnects mid game for no reason, most likely not a proton / wine issue and more because the game is early access
