It Just Werks
I don't know if it's the updated GPU (Radeon RX 6600), bumping up my CPU from 3.50Ghz to 3.90Ghz, or if simply the latest version of Proton (7.0-1) did the trick but the game now runs flawlessly with no need to change any settings in Proton. The game didn't suffer any visual hiccups compared to previous attempts and multiplayer worked as well. One of the fixes for the previous game in the series required a dxvk.conf file to be made to remove vsync and I suspect that previous versions of Proton might have needed that as well but as of now, you don't need to create this file to disable vsync to get it running.
Game Crashes When Loading Into a Mission
I tried Experimental, 6.3-4, and 5.13-6 and each time the game would crash when loading into a mission. Maybe someone else can get this working with some tinkering but I'm extremely new to Linux in general so hopefully someone else can get this figured out.
Lighting seems to be missing in some regard. Textures appear darker than normal, almost completely black but when you look at them closely, they're rendered just fine.
Menus and everything work perfectly but in-game performance seems to be half as good as what this hardware performs at under Windows.
I'm going to keep trying to tinker with this game to get it to run better than it is currently.
Working Great Out of the Box
Compared to previous attempts at trying to get this game running, World Brothers now works like a charm without having to tinker with any settings. The only mode I didn't try out was online so I don't know if that works or not but the single player works flawlessly.
