Setting up the Sound every time/no AA is ok. but there are other problems which aren't related to proton(mods). Which adds up.
Audio:Borked, Crackling, Other
Sound doesn't work out of the box. Tweaking the settings in pulseaudio removes all problems.
Performance:Slight Performance Problems
High Performance loss, antialias seems to be the cause. Without AA the performance is close to Windows.
Installing mods is really hard to impossible for new linux users. And they have to be reinstalled every time the game updates, just like in Windows. Which leads to a ton of wasted time, if you are tinkering.
