Native Version tried. Does Not work.
It shows "Running" in the Seam UI after starting, and can be Stopped there. But nothing really shows up. Can't find anything discernible in KDE System Monitor
- Install Native Version
- Got to installed file location (Do not start from Steam)
- Double Click bitburner executable to run. Or run via terminal command "./bitburner"
- If you keep steam open while doing so, the game can also sync Save files
Game Needs an eGPU
GoG version works fine
I see a logging in screen for a few seconds and then the whole sddm goes all wonky. It even went ahead and affected other tty's.
Botched. Might be something with my H/W or Manjaro setup, but not trying again until I make major changes to my setup.
Perhaps get a newer/ better computer than mine. Otherwise, no. 1 FPS at 720p
The first screen that comes up has images of icons scrambled
1 FPS gameplay on this computer. As compared to 30 FPS on Windows 7
The game needs way more RAM in Linux as compared to Windows 7, so cannot be run on 4GB RAM unless I get rid of my DE (haven't tried yet)
The main problem seemed to be system RAM. It might be runnable on a current gen non-gaming laptop too, as long as the system RAM requirements are met.
30-45 FPS when using 1080p 100% resolution. Using 90% resolution, got 50-65 FPS
Unstable Natwork causing crash during opening of match. The same problem existed on Windows 7 for The Cycle (the first version). I haven't checked this version on Windows
The problems might be a result of my Internet connection, so can't be sure of it.
Use Steam Runtime. This won't work with Steam Native on Arch
Going back using RMB or Esc or using some provided on-screen button sometimes takes too long to work (multiple seconds and multiple retries) e.g. the "Hack" screen during missions: even pressing the cancel button doesn't work instantly.
Online Multiplayer menus are glitchy
It would probably work well if you use Steam Runtime by default or use Ubuntu
