Just as long they don't alt tab (maybe play on windowed), they should be fine.
The game itself played perfectly on full screen, but god forbid you alt+tab it out of it. It will freeze slow, freeze and then crash.
To be fair with steam play, my gf had a similar problem in windows 10 with a weaker hardware.
Game stuck stuck on "loading music", never getting to the menu
I'm pretty new to proton, but so far this is the only game I wasn't able to run at all.
Best game I played all year, its only real problem is I couldn't sink another 15 hours on it.
I do remember a very quick problem with a texture or a model not loading, but this happened about twice.
The games runs REALLY, REALLY well on a GTX 660, with the exception of one polygon heavy area and a huge cliff that I suspect was just two maps loading together. Also, the devs had a brilliant idea of putting a huge overworld you barely see, but loads anyway, right on the final boss and that tanked the performance.
I know my hardware isn't making any quantum simulations for the Pentagon, but given the minimum requirements to be a gtx 500, I was very surprised by the contrast of perfectly smooth to begging for mercy. Can't imagine someone on minimum requirements playing it well on those parts, but only those parts.
Game crashed twice, one in the beginning (cutscene 12 min in), and another at 12 hours in. Never after that.
I cannot overstate how good this game is on a controller, even a generic ps3 one.
