The game won't launch at all. The sidebar on Steam says "Running", then "Synching" and that's it. I find it strange that Enderal won't launch, but Skyrim will.
Used this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/csxaza/how_to_play_enderal_forgotten_stories_with_proton/ I was able to launch, get to the main screen, but when I tried to start a new game, I get this message: "You have encountered a problem which stopped the files from loading correctly. Usually, this problem occurs if the launcher doesn't have writing permission in certain folders which means that some files couldn't be edited or created. Make sure that the launcher isn't blocked by Windows or third party programs. It is important that the 'Enderal - ForgottenStories.esm' is highlighted in the 'Data Files' window of Enderal's launcher."
Tried several methods on ProtonDB to no avail

I tried a lot of the proton vresions and launch options set out here on ProtonDB, but nothing works.
Game installed but locks up on the menu screen, which is black.

I've tried several versions of Proton and can't get this thing to work. I bypassed the launcher as suggested to no avail.
Tried various proton and GE versions with no luck.

Installs, won't run.
I installed Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST and the game. Install went fine, but it will not run. Is there a setting I'm overlooking?
