Tried a few different versions of proton, none of them worked for me for getting beyond the first loading screen. It worked fine with Wine.

Had to test different proton versions before I found one that worked. Experemental, 9.0-2, 8.0-5, and 7.0-6 did not successfully launch the game at time of report. Stopped testing after I found that 6.3-8 launched. Works exactly like it did on windows after I got it to boot up (of course, with some development changes as it's still in early access, but nothing from Linux)
menu background and loading screen replaced by missing texture image.
Very jittery, almost unplayable.

Tried all later versions of proton before trying 5.13-6, only it and 6.3-8 had it luanch.
They both went into a blank back screen with music playing that didn't change or end until I ended the program.
Experemental and newer versions do not work as of this report. This game has mostly controler support, though you can play with keyboard.
Worked good, crashed when I hit the loading screen after choosing a save.
Also tried ver 5.13-6 to the same results. All later versions available failed to succeed in starting up.
