-force-vulkan
Occasional white flashes and multiple inputs per button press when in menus
Fixed menu glitches with -force-vulkan; game played flawlessly after that
Audio cuts out occasionally when game hiccups, no longer than half a second at most
Game occasionally hiccuped for a handful of frames
Plays great once you turn the filters off in the options menu. The game recommends this upon launch as this seems to be a common issue on all platforms. Used Proton GE but probably didn't need to. Just turn the filters off and you'll be fine.
Can't recommend in current state; sounds like the windows version is a buggy mess too, so it might not even be Proton.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%
After switching to ProtonGE the tutorial ran flawlessly, but once outside the game is barely playable even on potato mode settings.
I got it to run, but barely; probably going to return it.
Game didn't run initially using any version of Proton so I ran it through the terminal to look for errors and it started right up; since then I can run it through Steam normally. Not sure what changed but it's running now and seems fine.
Try running it through the terminal if you can't get it to launch:
steam -applaunch 2532430
Seems like the game has issues on Windows too, so the performance problems might just be the game itself, not a Proton issue.
