I have the game through Epic, and launch through Heroic. Game would not launch properly with default configuration. I was able to get it to launch and plays well after the following: 1. Using GE 9-26, 2. As in previous recent reports, using Heroic's winecfg to hide the Proton version, 3. Manually editing the game settings in the prefix found at drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/STAR WARS Battlefront II/settings/ProfileOptions_Profile to enable DirectX12. After the game launches properly, it's a smooth and completely expected multiplayer experience.
Much lower frame rate on OpenGL, same performance as Windows using DX12.
All works great out of the box, just make sure to check your render method.
Make sure to do a full re-install and don't import files over. Effectively zero difference from Windows once it's running.
Very rare crackling
Default Scope-Zoom on Shift key would not work unless held down, rebind to mouse works completely fine.
Crashes if trying to quit from inside a match, fine from main menu.
Only launches when installed on EXT4 partition, will not run from other file formats.
There's some differences in menu transparency, otherwise visually and performance identical on both dedicated Nvidia and integrated AMD graphics.
