gamemoderun %command%
Alt-Tab is a instant crash for me
Sometimes lags spike and cause the game to freeze. Not constant, but very random.
Running the game without a fully ran shader cache file is going to make the game stutter for a while.
gamemoderun %command% -novid -high +fps_max 0
Seems fine
Runs better than Windows if you import a shader cache file.
Recent patches of proton borks the game, but a older patch (3.16-9) lets you play.
Newer patches of proton launches the game, but it doesn't show the start menu UI. Plays menu music and that's it. I only found 3.16-9 proton to only work out of the box. Nothing else.
Similar to how seige was when you played it on Linux, it's the same here. To those who dosen't know, seige lets you play online games, but kicks you out after a certain amount of time. Maybe it's something else but based from all the other reports it's the anti-cheat
Certain worlds and their shading has some problems when played
I had to use "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1" to play and launch the game, but the shaders in the game was buggy
Everything seems to work fine after reinstalling Mint :/ | Video players are the only part that doesn't work.
Proton GE seems to semi-work~
7.0 GE crashes the game after 30 minutes~ of play and crashes me when I tried to load a link into video players.
6.21 GE works fine. No performance boost between GE and without it.
The performance isn't very constant. The main problem I had was that when I join a new match the game just caps the fps to a low number.
So far what I got is that after every second game it just caps my fps to like 10-20 FPS, and have to change the resolution to like force the game to just stop the FPS Cap. I don't really know why.
The game in general is buggy still
If you have it on steam, it works fine. I'm using the EGS version which was a bit of a wierd journey.
uplay://launch/2688/0 -eac_launcher -nosplash
I downloaded the script off Lutris and installed via inside Lutris
I say the performance is in the middle. It's not good or bad but it's playable at a constant framerate
It's running at a constant performance, but there are constant lag spikes. Though it's not that bad really.
EAC is disabled.
Like said somewhere in this report I used the EGS version of Watch Dogs 2. I used lutris to install it, though I saw somewhere you could use heroic, but it wouldn't let me for some reason so I used lutris instead. If anyone is having the same issue as me here's what I did:
Install Watch Dogs 2 through Lutris (not the ubisoft connect launcher, just the watch dogs 2 one specifically which dose make you use the ubisoft launcher)
Upon launching it through Lutris, it crashes. So in this case I made steam run Ubisoft Connect under proton 6.3.8 with launch commands (which is from the Script's Arguments for the game).
For me this is how I did it to make it "worky". Why did no-one list this a possible way of making the game works is supringly because all I did was emulate what Lutris was trying to do in their script and copy it with steam. Amazing it took me like almost 8 months to figure out how to run this game.
I don't know if gamemode or proton-ge works. You can try them if you want, I just wanted to replay this game on linux dude.
