Game launches, but only to a black screen at 9fps with a cursor

Normally it would only launch to a borderless window with no cursor and 15 fps, but after tinkering around with the settings.txt I got it to run in windowed @ 720p, giving me a cursor. Have no clue what launch options I should be using.

With GloriousEggroll steam overlay launches, but not much more.

It gets to the menu, but it doesn't display it. This appears to be a rendering issue, because I can still hear the menu buttons click when you hover over them. PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% does nothing to help, neither do any of the no direct x options. The launcher starts but gives an AppID and steam communication error on any attempt, no mater if it's with GE or standard proton. Game is completely borked, soz.
