This game was once native to Linux, but Linux support was removed after the fact. When I start the game the window opens up with half of it on one monitor and half on the other for a second or two and then closes. I tried all of the runtime config options listed on the Proton GitHub page, but nothing changed the result at all.
Tried the mf-install script that was suggested, but no work.
The mf-install script that is suggested in this thread is a nightmare to even get to partially run. Every time I tried to pass the wineprefix variable to the script it would not find the script even though it was very much there. I got the script to start by putting the wineprefix variable at the top of the script, but it would stop on colorcnv.dll. I even tried copying the system32 and syswow64 files directly into the games wine prefix, but the game would still give me a white screen after selecting new game. Below is the error message the script spit out when it quit.
regsvr32: Failed to load DLL 'colorcnv.dll'
I decided to try installing the mf-install suggested by other posts and got it to install this time. The problem I had was that I didn't have quotes around the WINEPREFIX path. Once I fixed that, the game played perfectly fine. I played the game for about an hour and experienced no issues with performance.
Game seems to crash every time after a few minutes of gameplay.
Would play perfectly fine for about 2-3 minutes and crash every time.
Game hangs when player is about to get control.
I tried several versions of proton such as 6.3.5, experimental, 6.10-GE-1, and each time the game froze when control was about to be handed to the player during the training mission.
