If you are having graphical issues with the native I recommend trying it through Proton.
I've been running the native version for years Works natively with minor issues:
- Didn't Transfer or update Steam savegame. (I manually copied from Win)
- Crashed Occasionally.
- Minor graphical glitches (Brightness change while turning, Rare texture glitches)
I recently ran it with Proton 5.13-6 (caused steam to download and reinstall) and so far it has fixed all the issues I had. It picked up my save from years ago (I should be able to copy my current save but am enjoying the early game play for now) and it seems to run smoother though I haven't done a framerate comparison.

Tried the native version, got nothing past the game selection page. Tried Proton Experimental and it launched without issue
Ubuntu 20.04.2 I have not noticed any glitches in ~2 hrs play so far.
