Played the game from start to finish all under Proton. But there are some performance issues.
Fell out of sync in some scenes when NPCs were talking. Audio never overlapped.
FPS at around 40-60 fps. Would expect better performance given my hardware.
Around 50 FPS average, wouldn't recommend with older hardware.

My limits were still set to 1024 by default. In /etc/security/limits.conf I have increased the value accordingly to 8192.
In /etc/security/limits.conf i added:
USERNAME soft nofile 8192
USERNAME hard nofile 8192
After adding the two lines i rebooted my PC and was able to play the game.
If you run into issues please make sure to be on the latest unstable kernel, in the past I also had some trouble playing new releases when using lts/stable kernels.
Game works out of the box. Haven't tried multiplayer though.
Right at the beginning after you create a new game/session, you are shown a short tutorial video. This video was not displayed correctly for me. Otherwise everything worked fine.

The game runs great! However, during the endgame when you build bigger factories it gets a big laggy.
The Satisfactory Mod Manager is also available as an AppImage for Linux and can be used without any problems.
Played the game from start to finish without any problems using proton. Native version didn't even launch properly.
Won't run out of the box, you'll have to enable the Public Beta in order to play the native version of the game
In your Steam library right click on the game > properties > betas > select "public-beta - Public Beta" and you'll be playing the native version.
