Force the USE of steam compatibility tool for this game by right clicking it and select "Steam Linux Runtime"
If the audio crackles try adding to the launch options: PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=150 gamemoderun %command%
In the Console:
sudo apt-get install mesa-utils libglu1-mesa-dev freeglut3-dev mesa-common-dev libtcmalloc-minimal4
sudo updatedb
cd $HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike\ Global\ Offensive/bin/linux64 && mv libtcmalloc_minimal.so.0 libtcmalloc_minimal.so.0.orig && cp /usr/lib/{,x86_64-linux-gnu/}libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4.5.9 && libtcmalloc_minimal.so.0
If you have not got cs:go not installed in the default directory, change where the above cds too.
Launch options "-nojoy -novid"
D3DERR or 2fps video, can't get into game, tried suggested from other reports
Would NOT run from second HDD even ext4. Tried even Proton-GE. WINEPREFIX=~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/221040/pfx/ winetricks -q wmp11 didn't fix, loads up but is extremely slow

Right click Resident Evil 6 in Steam
In launch options put: PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=150 gamemoderun %command%
You may not need that command but I find the audio can 'crackle' a bit in this game.
Now click on the tab that says "Local Files" and click "Browse..."
In the window that comes up go into the "nativePC "folder and then "movie"
Select all files inside the .rar we downloaded earlier and drag them into the "movie" folder. Select replace for all.
Run the game
