Surprisingly multiplayer works
Transparent Uplay, but was fixed using proton experimental
Steam overlay freezes the game, if uplay overlay works. DUring the start up, press any key dialogue will render a transparent screen, to prevent this, alt+tab to desktop or other applications and reenter the game
Multiplayer works when you start your online game and then search another player or create co-op. If you create co-op from the main menu, the game crashes when the other player connects.
Uplay launcher wasn't updating. Changed proton to a lower version, replaced the game launcher in the redist/GameLauncher folder with a new uplay launcher (I used the Farcry 4 launcher but I guess you can use the latest uplay launcher). After installing the launcher and directx, game threw a launcher error. Change the proton back to default and the uplay launcher opened and was able to play the game.
