Type in a few launch options, choose "Play Team Fortress 2" and pray to Gabe that he wont freeze your X server.

Every once in a while I disconnect from the matchmaking servers but a restart always fixes it.
The game without tinkering freezes your X server for an insane amount of time upon launch. In the launch options you need to replace the 144's with your screen's refresh rate and the SDL_VIDEODRIVER's parameter with "wayland" if you're on wayland. That's pretty much it, no idea why it freezes your X server..
Works OOTB with occasional big frame drops.
Game somtimes has insane lag when there are a lot of enemies or the map is too large. (especially sandbox)
If you don't really care that much about frame drops it's a-ok.
