It was working fine before the update on October, 7th
I was able to play the game just fine with my friends until the update on 2021/10/07. Now the game doesn't work anymore on GNU/Linux with Proton. They introduced a borked "anti-cheat" that now simply detects Proton as a hack.
Installed the dependencies with the command:
protontricks 985810 mfc42 vcrun6 dotnet40 cjkfonts
I couldn't install "mfc140" but I also didn't need it. dotnet40 fails the installation but it still works afterwards (I think it isn't even needed, not sure).

I'm running Mint (Debian-based), so in my case to set everything up I did:
sudo apt install -y winetricks python3-pip python3-setuptools python3-venv pipx && source ~/.bashrc && pipx install protontricks && protontricks 985810 mfc42 vcrun6 dotnet40 cjkfonts
Besides not being able to Alt+Tab away from the game, if you have it in windowed mode and doesn't minimize it, you'll hear mouse clicks in the game when interacting with other software
Sometimes a key gets sticky and I have to press it again to release it (like Z and the arrow keys).
The chat experience is kinda janky overall, I can't type accentuated characters (like à, á, â, ã) in a normal way. For example, if I type an "é" in the middle of a long sentence, the cursor goes back to the beginning, which hinders typing in some languages.
After 14 days without being able to play because of the broken anti-cheat, it is finally working again!!
I don't know if they disabled the anti-cheat or if they maybe specifically added a Proton whitelist or something.
Borked because of the anti-cheat...
Forget everything I said in my previous report...
LITERALLY after reporting that (after hours of playing having fun and taking a break afterwards) I was going to play again and the game had a small update of just 1.2 fucking MB on Steam that broke everything again...
Sorry for the late report about this, but I got so sad and disappointed that I have lost my strength and didn't have energy to report back again...
Constant Flickering on Windowed mode, need to play in Fullscreen. Achievements don't show up.
