All in all, it's janky and the movies thing is unfortunate, but gameplay wise it works.

Tinker Steps:Switch to experimental, Changed configuration

For some reason the Proton 9.0-3 solution was not working for me. Would always crash at the main menu screen, and if I used anything below Proton 9.0-3 it wouldn't even start up.

The only thing that's worked is to rename the movies folder at:

/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/The Forever Winter/Windows/ForeverWinter/Content/Movies

Doesn't play the intro/menu background video but it doesn't crash.

Graphics:Other

Because of renaming the "movies" folder, the background of in-game monitors and screens are white.
