Doesn't Launch
I've tried default proton, a couple GE versions, I've tried the WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY fix ... the launcher shows up, but I can never get past the launcher. The game simply doesn't launch any more.
I've had it working before, so something has changed recently.

The game does run with proton 7.0-2, but it appears to use media foundation libraries for cutscenes - so proton 7.0-2 can't play cutscenes.
Proton GE with default launch options will result in a "your device does not support directx 12" error and the game will fail to start. Set launch options to "%command% -dx11" to force the game to use directx 11 instead, which allows it to run normally.
The game appears to run fine on GE after setting launch options correctly. I've noticed some minor stutter, but I assume that's due to shader compilation, which will only happen once.
On both experimental and official 9.0-2, I had frequent crashing (never more than 30 minutes play time), complete with significant progress loss each time I crashed. I have not experienced a crash since switching to GE9-11.
Audio in cutscenes quickly fell out of sync. It's possible it had to do with dxvk shader compilation causing the video to fall behind where the audio thought it should be; but either way, expect to be reading subtitles in cutscenes.
Everything seems to work perfectly out of the box with Proton Experimental as of 2021-07-11. Other than what appears to be dxvk stutter in some parts, it's been running quite smoothly.
I noticed one small pause (possibly shader compilation?) in one area, but everything else is about as smooth as I could hope for.
Seems to work fine with defaults
While the game has its issues (clunky combat as in Elex and the like, but in a soulslike), it seems to run perfectly fine in proton with defaults.
Cutscenes do not play video, only audio. Tried Proton-GE-8.x, no dice. Tried mf-install, no dice.
Proton 9, Proton GE 9, and Proton Experimental all result in a crash shortly after getting to the main menu. But going back to Proton 8 seems to make the game run just fine.
I just wish I could get the cutscenes to play.
