Runs identically to on a Windows device.
Other than the expected RPG Maker fullscreen issues, it runs perfectly. I haven't experienced any performance or graphical issues, it works very well.
Pressing F12 while in Alt+Tab fullscreen causes graphical issues
To fix the black window issue, press Alt+Tab to force the game into fullscreen, then press it again to go back to windowed.
Runs great, performance drops a lot in a few bigger rooms. Happens on Windows too.
Didn't tried playing it in full screen, I just accepted the fact it's a windowed game ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Has a couple issues, but they either are not critical to standard gameplay or have workarounds
Accidental Screenshot causes screen to rapidly flicker, mirrored across horizontal center
Alt+Enter works to fullscreen, but small buffer remains
Puro was there
Fullscreen is a little finicky, but just hit alt+enter and it should work
someone remove the 'sexual content' tag from this game on steam xD
Works more or less
Sometimes choppy
Entering Ming Cat room drops the framerate to approx. 4FPS
While the game works, the aforementioned Ming Cat room issue makes the game borderline unplayable in that one area, however it works well after getting through it.
Installed corefonts for Changed-special
F5 yields a black screen, Alt+Enter causes the game to enter fullscreen mode but the game area does not reach the bounds of the display. After disabling using F5 after using F5 to enable, the window border disappears (i3wm), but the game remains playable. After disabling using Alt+Enter, the graphics become bugged and render the game unplayable, but after re-entering fullscreen mode the game becomes playable again (this cannot be resolved using F5). There is also anti-aliasing, resulting in a blurry image.
Resizing using F6 causes a blurry image until window is returned to original size. However, this occurs on Windows too.
default window size is too big, so im forced to play in fullscreen mode, so far without issues (will update if issues arise)
Some menus need corefonts installed; game is completely playable without this tho
rpgmaker fullscreen is janky in general; not specific to this game

As Lelax explained in his post, you need to install the corefonts to play the special version correctly.
Fullscreen is a bit funky; the window ends up jittered if you try to exit it.
Game runs very slow in some areas. It's as the other comments point out. Maybe there is a wine parameter you can add to your launch options to make that a bit better, but sadly i have no idea.
Works as lagging as it does in Windows. Changed-Spezial requires short and easy tinkering.
The lag that people are experiencing is an issue with rpg maker x; On Windows, it lags just the same. Going in and out of fullscreen is... unpleasant. The game isn't meant to run on high-res, its pixelated and blurry on windows too, when used as big window. To get Changed-Spezial to work (for Debian (Ubuntu) only):
- sudo apt-get install winetricks
- https://simpler-website.pages.dev/html/2021/1/protontricks/
- Select the default wineprefix
- Install a font
- Select Corefonts
- Wait. Click "Ok" a lot of times
- (Optional) When in the start menu, you can press f1 and select the upper most option, it means "start game in fullscreen"
It is best described as a nsfw game at best and at worst an nsfw horny tf game that bairly classifies as a survival game.
These settings are for Changed - Special.
has really bad slowdowns in certain areas where the frames would drop to single digits
if you try and play the Changed speical in the menu it will crash
Although the stuttering might throw some people off, It doesn't degrade the experience of this specific game. Everything else is fine.
Sometimes it turns really sluggish
Playable with some patience
Moving a window between monitors causes the graphics to stop updating
- Fullscreen using
F5
isn't fully full where i can see my desktop/app. It's solved if you useAlt-Enter
instead. - When i Alt-Tab from fullscreen mode, game screen freeze/not updated. It could be solved by exit and enter fullscreen.
- Some areas have no performance problem (55-60 FPS)
- Some areas have slight performance problems (25-50 FPS)
- Few areas have significant performance problems (<13 FPS), where it's barely playable and usually occur on difficult area which require trial-and-error, precise timing or both where i just about to rage quit
P.S. Proton 7.0-3 and GE-Proton7-20 even have worse performance.
Changed-special (which is upcoming remaster version of the game) doesn't run at all.
Some areas will kill your performance, usually because of a large number of objects/NPCs at a given time.
Noticeable slowdown in some areas, though never enough to be considered unplayable.
Required Proton GE as the game did not launch at all with official Proton versions after 3.16-9, versons on or before 3.16-9 produced a black window that wouldn't close until SIGKILLed, haven't installed corefonts yet as I am currently playing the base game.
Apart from occasional performance drops on certain levels, still very much playable.
On most levels, the performance is normal, but on certain ones, the FPS drops significantly.
Small black window opens, proceeds to a larger transparent window. Fans spin up, that's it.
I tried every version of proton that was listed in the steam settings for this game. I haven't experienced any problems with proton til now, so I have no idea what could cause this.
On proton experimental the game will work, but during the shark boss fight, there is still significant lag, using 3.7-8 is your best bet.
Not sure if its a game issue or proton issue, but i cannot make the game go fullscreen.
The problem with extremely low FPS in game has been resolved with the latest proton experimental version and you no longer need to resort to using Proton 3.
Starts off slowly, and it doesn't go further than a black window.
installed corefonts
Starts off very slowly, a tiny window appears then properly resizes itself, the first time I ran this a faint "CHANGED" logo appeared but nothing more, later tries got nowhere, just a black window.
Could be my hardware.
Need to install corefonts via protontricks
Reassigned few buttons, the layout is available to download
Worked like a charm out of the box.
Runs well on versions 3.16 and 3.7 all others have slowdown or fps in single digits.
Fullscreen Integer Scaling does not work on the current experimental build, or Proton-6.3-7, however it does work on Proton-6.21-GE-2
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Now essentially runs like native with latest Proton experimental update. 0 issues whatsoever.
the menu is 60 fps, entering the main level its 8/7 fps, the first cat chase level is 2fps preventing me from playing
Game works fine, with Proton version 3.16-9
Normal version works fine, without bugs. Changed-special version works but no text is displayed so that game is unplayable.
Well it's working but you need also to select Proton 3.16-9 because it's most stable and fast working version for this game
runs perfect without having to change anything but in Changed special the text disappears so just do the normal one.
In the "Changed special" mode the text disappears
Proton-5.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
protontricks 814540 corefonts
Sometimes the game lags a bit, but is overall very playable.
Has sometimes slowdowns, but overall playable.
On some parts of the game there are slight slowdowns, thought game is still playable.
Trough proton works without problems like disappearing fonts, but if you have this problem install protontricks and install corefonts (this has to be done separately for the standard ans special version).
Runs like native.
The text don't render
Impossible to play, there are no text in screen, but is possible to launch and run...
The game opens but is rendered unplayable due to missing text.
The gold rating is highly misleading as the game is effectively completely unplayable.
Due to this game being an RPG, it contains a lot of text, but there's no text at all in-game (except the game title and warnings)
Font is missing, no text at all.
