Tried running with all of the proton versions on steam, with launch flag PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%, and a new prefix on lutris. The game gives me an error saying "unfreed memory"
Using PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command% works without any issues. Can't recommend this enough
With the suggestions below, PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%, the game starts and runs fine even on Mesa
My previous report has wrong info in specs:
It ran after setting the game to use Proton 4.11-2 and adding PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command% to the launch options. I had to use windowed mode for the game to start properly. In full screen mode you need to minimise then alt tab back to the game to see it. Proton 4.11-2, the launch options and windowed runs the game great

Add "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%" to launch options. Works great.
only minor issue i have is. it will launch with a black screen sometimes. found out i can just minumiz/go to desktop. go back to the game. it will run perfectly with AMD propritary drivers. could not get it to work any other way.
It just has a black screen. I'll try the recommended tweaks, if they work I will amend this report.

Switching to steam on wine starts the game and loads the menu but still 100% CPU usage and is unplayable.
UnknownUnknown(> 10 hours with Proton)to get this game running i did not, need to do that much. im giving it lurks be gold because. its seems to be that if you have. the propritary drivers from, AMD installed. it lurks below will launch and is perfectly playable. i found that without amds propritary driver installed. the game would launch with sound. but all you get is a black window.
once amds propritary drivers where installed. for my system. everything about the game works. im ablel to change it from windowed mode to full screen with no issues. sound works great. if not set to high, changing resalutions works flawlessly. in general i did not have to really tweak anything. it lurks below just worked out of the box with AMDS propritary driver installed
