Playing with VKBSim HOTAS (Gladiator Next EVO & STECS). Setting up a control sheme that works for me took a little bt, but other than that, it works great. It is really fun to fly these with a proper stick and throttle.

This game has a steep learning curve, you really have to learn how to fly your plane.

This game is not really playable on keyboard & mouse. Setting up controller to work takes hours of tweaking.

Customizations:

I'm using Thrustmaster HOTAS in Ubuntu 18.

I seem to be able to make the game co-operate with the controller with these:

Disable Steam Overlay
Set Input Per-Game Setting to Forced Off
Forcing Proton 4.11-13 as compatibility tool
In Steam -> Settings -> Controller, setting up the controller in General Controller Setting

Each profile in the game still requires me to setup bindings, but I was able to control the aircraft using the TM controller.

Audio:Other

Audio sometimes dies for a few seconds, then comes back up.

Input:Controller Detection, Responsiveness

Performance:Slight Performance Problems

Microfreezes (1-2s) mid-flight.

Significant Bugs:

Passenger drop-off quest marker doesn't disappear although passenger has been dropped off.

Input:Controller Mapping, Responsiveness

Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Joystick is detected, but doesn't work properly. "proton run control" joystick is detected and work normally. Another game, "Lunar Flight" works.

takes a while to start first time but seems playable from the start though only got 15 mins in game so far.
