The pre-rendered video volume is much quieter than the rest of the game. In a silent room I had to nearly max out the Deck's volume to hear them.
Works out-of-the-box.
Crashes on intro sequence.
I experienced the infamous "blue screen" issue in Discussions, where the intro video fails to load and displays a blank, blue frame. There is no way to skip the intro, rendering the game unplayable. As far as I can tell, it has to do with other programs hooking into the game, but even disabling the Steam overlay gives the same result.

I Play with 1920 x 1080 at High settings and V- Sync and its good to play without lacks and a good performance.
Protonfixes installs the needed NET.Frameworks for the Konfiguration Utility
It's a Game for an Controller or an Driver-wheel- Controller thats why Playing with Keyboard are a Moment to learn how the Keys a for what control but i had not tested with an Controller or a Wheel - i have no Wheel- or an XBox- Controller but its playable with the Keyboard, so on.
You can use Protonfixes for install missing dependencies https://github.com/simons-public/protonfixes
During the first few races some stutters can happen (shader compiling?), otherwise a flawless experience.
Config Utility doesn't work. Game defaults to Desktop resolution.

this game works better with proton 4.2-9, I don't know why it has nothing to do with DXVK version or ESYNC.
the Settings Utility needs dotnet35 . I installed with protontricks, also it doesn't run well but it's usable.
fortunately the game detects the resolution just fine, it's almost a platinum rating if you can live with the default settings and don't need to change them with the config utility.
