Controller worked out of the box, but showed as keyboard inputs. Possibly because of the default Steam Input layout, but I did not investigate.
Steam kept complaining about cloud saves not being synced. Possibly due to crashes.
Framerate was 30fps or lower. Either the game isn't optimized or too demanding for Steam Deck.
Crashes a couple of minutes after launching. Possibly due to lack of RAM or VRAM or some other crash.
I wish I could answer "I don't know". There was no one else playing, so I can't measure lag. And the game crashed shortly afterwards.
Multiplayer is mostly dead, only one server was online and no one was connected.

works out of the box with proton 5.0.5
after a few seconds of online play while driving the buggy the left analog stick stopped being responsive and only on online multiplayer. input was a bit laggy
lag even on single player
BUT I wouldn't recommend buying this game unless you specifically want to support the developer. It's good for early access and plays on linux via proton but empty. there isn't much to do in game apart from exploring

Seems to load fine up until spawning when it starts to very quickly use up all available RAM and freeze the computer. Tried several workarounds such as using WineD3D, setting all graphics options to low, and capping FPS to 30. Nothing seems to be able to make it work right now.
