Starts up without any tinkering. Used Proton Experimental. Able to load up a game project, run the game and compile it. IDE elements work as intended with no graphical glitches and even fullscreens properly with Plasma.

GameMaker boots to a black screen, also tried reverting to the earlier proton version and back but that hasn't fixed it
Waited a few minutes to see if it'd sort itself out but it didn't change
I've managed to make and compile a simple game.
Noticeable lag when typing.
In order to make the installation work, first install the game with Proton Experimental, then switch to Proton 4.11-13, and then back to Proton Experimental. More details here.

Not able to log-in on Proton 5.0-9
Program launches. Brings me log-in screen. When I try to log-in, it gives me connection error. Says : "Unable to login - no network connection" With the following details : "If this is a persistent issue, please try the following: Check any firewall is not blocking GameMaker Studio 2 access. Check any antivirus is not blocking GameMaker Studio 2 access. Check any proxy or VPN is not blocking GameMaker Studio 2 access. And if all else fails, submit a help ticket and include your ui.log which can be found: On Mac - 'Users/Shared/GameMakerStudi02 On PC - CAProgramData\GameMakerStudi02" Happens on both Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS (it is based on Ubuntu 20.04). Planning to check it on Manjaro too.
The game install perfectly fine with every indication that everything went well, but upon launch immediately crashes.

Install fails and dotnet install seemingly fails
Games gets past initial install, though when launching afterwards, it attempts to install the dotnet framework which I think fails. Afterwards, the game doesn't launch. This repeats every time I hit play.
I am running the game through standard Wine with very few issues using this guide on the forums: https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?threads/run-the-gms2-ide-on-ubuntu-19-04.64330/
Unfortunately scrolling and zooming in doesn't seem to work at all, which are very important just for navigating the UI in GMS.

Won't start at all.
