Runs a charm using Proton. Native Linux works but you'll get better performance with Proton!
Very minor audio skips from time to time.
After the race my wheeled pulled to the side (not during gameplay). Might be a thing with my G29, but if you're using a DD make sure your hands are safe and not holding the wheel from the inside, for example, but that's a good practice in any game really.

gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Game runs stable and smooth at 3440x1440 @ 144Hz. But there are graphical glitches. Dualsense controller works OK. Using Wayland
If you can ignore how it looks, and the occasional hard crash doesn't bother you much, the game works.
gamemoderun %command%
A lot of very distracting square artifacts around the edges of characters and some distant objects. The whole game also looks very oversaturated and overly sharpened, along with some glitched shadows being way too dark, and I don't know if that's a proton problem or the game is just like that.
Occasionally, the controller drops out and needs to be physically reconnected.
Runs well and only minor annoyances.
Humans have some black squares around edges, otherwise works perfectly.
FFB is off when entering a new session, entering menu and going to back to drive turns it on, maybe game bug?
Game seems to crash every two hours or so

Without force feedback, it is impossible to play decently with a steering wheel, which is the way this game is meant to be played
No force feedback, unplayable with a steering wheel
I think runs better through proton than through the native Feral version. excellent experience.
minor triangles in some pit enginners
i used to be able to run the game natively in Linux mint 20.1, though when i switched to Ubuntu 21.10 it didn't seem to work. I then forced to run it with proton experimental and worked flawlessly right away, except for initial low fps in the menus (this was completely disabling navigation but got fixed when resolution changed from x720 to x1080). don't know if this last thing was circumstantial.

I have no issue's running this game with proton. I posted a steamcommunity video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JQIJ8fPGEQ&feature=youtu.be
