I have removed prefix data from steam directories and replaced it with symlink to base HoMM7 prefix directory as described in a post under the link:

Launching with steam without tinkering would require another uplay installation. And first of all -> it would be separated from base HoMM7 instance.

Install uplay into game's prefix flatpak run com.github.Matoking.protontricks 445310 uplay

Sometimes uplay update on initial boot can get stuck, just restart until it updates properly and you'll be golden.

After the game installation you must install the Uplay separately with protontricks.

"protontricks 445310 uplay"

No more Uplay crashing and the game will work very well!
