Fails after intro cutscene with "NVVM compilation failed: 1"
gamemoderun %command%
After the short intro which says "you are chosen", every time it just ends the executable and sends me back to Steam.
It is not showing on my Steam, because I refunded it as I was unable to play it.

Crashes about 30 seconds after starting a new game (after the initial wormhole + text intro).
I tried forcing an older Proton version, disabled Vsync, turned off adaptive graphics, and it didn't make any difference.
Game runs for me as-is on Steam. No audio issue on my system
Doesn't launch. Briefly shows a black screen and then crashes.
The game runs fine on the Deck, but 2 of the 3 launch modes are in VR. As long as you use a non VR mode, the game runs perfectly fine
I do not really know why Steam lists this game as UNSUPPORTED because you can play it perfectly well, aside from the VR modes. The battery drain is slower than most other games.
Worked perfectly in VR on Valve Index without any tinkering.
Works great, but you have to alter some settings otherwise it crashes right after the intro
Had to disable Vsync, adaptive quality, and interlaced rendering

Funktionierte hervorragend, nachdem die Soundprobleme behoben wurden. Works great, after the audio problems are fixed.
OpenAL32.DLL
You should change the old OpenAL32.DLL in your installed location. In a previous post someone gives a precise instruction to do. Its given link is outdated, instead you can use the following from internet archive Wayback Machine. OpenAL32.DLL
Einmaliger Absturz nach gescheiterter Mission

There is no audio due to an old OpenAL32.DLL. Once it's replaced with a good one then the sound will work.

Currently Megaton Rainfall runs flawlessly sans audio, but it can be easily fixed by doing the following:
download this file from Openal: https://kcat.strangesoft.net/openal-binaries/openal-soft-1.19.1-bin.zip
From that file extract the file soft_oal.dll from /bin/Win32 of the downloaded archive.
copy the file to your ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Megaton Rainfall/ folder.
rename OpenAL32.dll to OpenAL32.bak
Rename soft_oal.dll to OpenAL32.dll
Start game and destroy the aliens with full audio enabled!

no sound. the game runs well otherwise. also tried with 4.14-GE-1 and all the older versions of Proton. rated bronze because not having sound is an issue preventing me from playing comfortably. with sound, this would be platinum.

No sound.
