Used to work great, but not launching as of last night
I've been playing this game on Linux for a while. Formerly I was able to get by with just proton experimental, but currently it's not even launching. Verifying file integrity and switching proton versions didn't do anything to fix this, I'll update the report if it stops crashing or I figure out how to make it work.

crashes when changing maps occasionally
Overall brilliant experience with slight hiccup's every now and then, but these happend on windows version aswell.

Runs out of the box (with some minor quirks)
No difference when compared to Windows 10.
Runs out of the box, with some very minor visual oddies for other programs that are running when you alt+tab to another window. For example, Konsole, my console program would display graphical elements of the file browsing program that I had up. But, nothing that affects game play and nothing that sticks around once the game is closed. I can't even verify this was due to the game running, and I've only noticed it happen once.
Other than this, the game works exactly as you would expect right out of the box.
I noticed few times a little artifacts but the game runs perfectly
Some weapon and unit descriptions were hard to read
People did not know I was on a deck
Runs perfectly out of the box
1 or 2 crashes in over 50 hours of online play
Sometimes when playing online, there can be some graphical performance issues, but this also happens on windows. It plays better on my linux machine than on windows.

A pleasent experience, strangely the game seem more stable on Linux distro than on Windows
No majore issue, CTD using F4 to see my char on drill camp
Work perfectly fine, no major issues due to Proton, only known issues coming from the game itself
Sometimes mic input does not pick work. Similar on Windows
Despite previous reviews, the game ran flawlessly with no reported issues except for some slight pop-in during observation at elevation.
Was working and then the devs did an update. Doesn't launch now
Simply does not launch.
Had to manually switch audio devices for microphone to be picked up
Some lag and stuttering but that could just be the game normally
Played great no issues at all.

The game launched no problem and had good performance. The game stutters but I believe that is a fault with the game not with proton
Proton-6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
I would recommend an ssd since load times can be atrocious on a hard drive. My friend took well over 15 minutes to load in on a hard drive while I took around 3-5 minutes on an ssd

Proton Experimental 6.3-6
Game ran flawlessly other than slight performance hit on my hardware. No tinkering or setting anything up required.
Performance does take a hit vs windows. Still very playable!
Game fails to launch entirely

Was able to start the game but Servers wouldn't load.
Was able to start the game but Servers wouldn't load. Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST and earlier seemed to work, later versions of Proton would fail to load.
Usually Crashes On Startup
Moving to a different tag or monitor in dwm freezes the game with a black screen when in fullscreen. Windowed works normally.
On windows, you can press keys while sprinting or freelooking but for some reason you can't with proton. This is a minor inconvenience when you're trying to see the names of who's around you.
This game used to run flawlessly a few months ago but now it will crash on startup more often than not. It will start, show the Cryengine logo, then crash. I've restarted the game multiple times and it will occasionally start fine and run without any problems. As far as I know, any problems you have after the initial startup is with the game itself (it's playable but very buggy) and not proton.
Side note: on windows, you can press keys while sprinting or freelooking but for some reason you can't with proton. This is a minor inconvenience when you're trying to see the names of who's around you.

Crashhandler.exe missing error
while loading, that error message showed.
Game launches, shows CryEngine logo, crashes as soon as music starts.
Crashes on startup

Works nicely
Performance is not great, but it is playable with 60 fps on low settings.
I'd say it ran slow, but I've played it on a windows computer and it just isn't very well optimized overall, it is still in alpha

The game starts normally, but crashed a few times when I entered servers or when trying to change the resolution.

Performance was less than half of windows, but it seems to work ok.

To get the voice chat working, I removed the file "windowsaudiosession_win64.dll" from the folder ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/War of Rights/bin/win_x64/soundbackends . I guess this forces the use of directsound (?), and i had no problems after that. The game runs with noticeably less fps than in windows, but is still very playable for me. When exiting the game immediately after launching it ( without playing, just loading the main menu) , the game does not close properly and I have to force quit the process.

Game wont launch

I reinstalled 18.04 and installed the 390 nvidia driver. Game started up. I did not click the "use this tool instead of game-specific selection from Steam".

used 415 nvidia driver, cycled through the multiple Steam Play comparability tools with same response.
Game was able to start, 60+fps
once attempting to join server, screen/system would freeze, sound continued unaffected.
