As of writing, the game would not progress into the Create-A-Sim menu unless running it with Proton Hotfix. Besides controller input not being recognized, I haven't encountered any other issues.

You can use Steam input to use the controls and navigate with the touchscreen but this isn't acceptable as the game is marketing controller support (Also it was on the Nintendo Wii)

Regardless if you do use the touchscreen or Steam input you will just crash to Home anyway

Picking any menu options on the title menu will softlock you. If you can manage to get the game to go past the file select menu, the game will crash upon entering Create-a-Sim. EA is supposedly working on this to fix it.
