--disable_networking
Due to this software having reached it's end of life, it is no longer compatible with the IPV6 networking stack of newer linux kernel versions. Disabling X-Plane's networking by adding the launch parameter --disable_networking
solves this issue.

Game won't start running native, no error, just doesn't start. I also got a system error related to Vulkan which might be causing this.
I will try running with Proton

It worked rather well. I spent some time the controller configuration, and it's not quite done, but the software works well.
I took the left touchpad and created a radial button with virtual buttons to allow me to hit keys like F1,F2 (throttle). I am still fiddling with the left joystick because I tend to mess up the throttle when using the rudder.
When docked, I had trouble with an extra controller that was hooked up to the dock.
Very infrequent crashes, usually when I'm changing the controller configuration

Changed Alot of the controls, took about 30 mins
20 FPS
Game runs without issues but at 20fps (According to the steam deck) altough I didn't change the graphics. Biggest downside is the lack of addon airplanes, there are the default ones, and I got the Zibo 737-800X working but other than that, no other aircraft worked.
