- Using Prtoton 9.0-4
- Update Nvidia Driver to 565
- Disable global illumination in game settings

If you are on bazzite, the default drivers will work for the game provided you disable global illumination. Performance takes a hit
gamemoderun %command%
Game runs well with lessened settings (getting around 50-60fps on medium, 60+ on low/lowest presets). Must disable global illumination for the game to run properly
Performance is not as good as on windows, but is servicable and fully playable! Missing textures are not a problem on Bazzite like on other distributions noted in the reports, and the game can get 60+fps with some tinkering, and slightly less without.
Notice of game crashing on close
The game is currently broken with the standard Nvidia drivers version 550.120 provided by Manjaro. You must upgrade to the unstable branch containing 565.57.01, which is required for this game to run on Linux. Otherwise it is completely unplayable.
I have tried the testing branch which contains 550.135 and other versions that other people have reported here, but this is the only one that worked for me.

Das Spiel läuft im Großen und Ganzen sehr gut, nur wenn der Park größer wird, treten leichte Performance-Probleme auf.

Games works great, but some settings need adjusting
The game will run fine on with the latest stable Proton from steam, but as another person pointed out disabling Global Illumination seems to fix the instability issues (crashes). It's a shame because Frontier told me the issue was I was using Linux, but now it seems like they have a badly coded game.
At any rate, the game is playable with no special hoops to jump through.

Had issue with 3d objects (Like globe on menu) being grey/brown as many others have posted. Issue occured on 550.127.05 NVIDIA driver. After upgrading to 565.57.01 (BETA) the issue resolved.

Excellent out of the box experience with both regular Proton and Experimental. On AMD GPU (RX 7800 XT) as well as on integrated AMD graphics
10/10 would recommend

To fix the random crashes on RTX, Deactivate (off) Global Illumination in settings.

Textures do not load
Tested All Proton Versions that Steam offers
I tried all proton versions and I always have the same problem everything in game is black seems like an NVIDIA Problem.

Big performance issues compared to a native Windows installation and constant crashes (every few minutes)

all 3D objects are dark silhouettes
Menus and overlays work fine but all 3D objects are shown only as greyish/brownish silhouettes regardless of in-game graphics settings, rendering the game unplayable. The issue can already be seen on the globe/characters in the main menu. When starting the campaign, all objects are still just silhouettes with some textures leaking between objects like clouds.
Tested with Nvidia drivers 550.120 and 550.127.05, Proton 9.0-3 and Proton Experimental (using compatibility options via Steam).

Planet Coaster 2 works perfectly out of the box on my machine, I didn't encounter any bug or performance issues
For information I play the game with graphics set to medium for the most part, and it runs fluently

Launches, but has game breaking graphical glitches
Both the planet in the main menu and the actual game have rendering issues, resulting in a "fog" covering anything unless zoomed in extremly close, this seems to be an NVidia GPU issue.
Game occasionally hangs when it looses focus.

Game cannot run for more than 5 - 10 minutes.
I've tried running this game several times using the following compatibility version:
- Steam Linux Runtime 2.0 (Solider) (installed alongside Planet Coaster 2)
- Proton latest stable from Steam
- Proton Experimental
- GE-Proton9-18
None of these compatibility options work. The game runs fine for about 5-10 minutes and then locks up and shuts down. The developer also doesn't really care that it doesn't work on Linux. If you want to play this, I suggest you use Windows.

The game can run, but the planet will look brown and when playing the game all you will see is brown
RADV_DEBUG=zerovram %command%
I need more tinker stuff, GE11-13 didnt work too :c
Ran perfectly out of the box

Does not work at all. DirectX Error
Reports no 3D graphics card installed, but displays the graphics card, and other games work fine.
Proton 9.0-3 works fine. No issues.

Game runs well on Linux. It lacks optimization as it doesn't run that smooth for what it is but this is not a linux only issue.

A bit blurry
Game starts when window is not in focus but crashes immediately when focused.

Didn't launch straight from steam. Switched to GE

Weird silhouette rendering issue.
The menu displays but the planet on the right is masked like a silhouette, and once in game the world doesn't render correctly either. Unplayable, nvidia-drivers-550.127.05-r1, Gentoo
gamescope -W 3840 -H 2160 -e --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
Screen positioning was off by default; gamescope fixes this.
Camera rotation/movement with mouse wouldn't work by default. Gamescope needed --force-grab-cursor to work correctly.
The UI seems to have been built with a controller in mind.

Grahpic Glitches and weird fog
The game runs and you can load saves and build things but on the map and in the menus you have this weird fog all over and you can not see anything

Frequent Crashes
Can only run the game for a few minutes at a time before it crashes.
The game is currently unstable at release. I'd hold off on buying this game for Linux platforms for a while. I will be refunding this game before the 2 weeks is up if they can't fix it. Hours played isn't an issue as the game crashes after about 5-10 minutes.
fixed when reinitated fullscreen
Works well out of the box

Crashes after a few seconds/minutes + Issues with Denuvo
The first few times I've launched the game, it crashed after a few seconds or maybe minutes in the main menu. As it's "verified" on Steam Deck I suspect my Nvidia GPU to be the culprit.
Unfortunately I couldn't really test that more thoroughly, because after I've tried different Proton versions, the Denuvo anti-tamper locked me out of the game for 24 hours.
So I'd recommend caution if you want to investigate the game's issues yourself.

Everything is very dark, no matter what settings are changed. unplayable.
Random crashes
All ingame 3D surfaces are an unlit black, skyboxes are weird. Menu's work fine
Flawless OOTB

I have crackling on all proton games
Crashed untill i forced 9.0-3 other than that flawless
