Needed to tweak the graphics settings a bit to fix those white cars in far distance.
The game work with (almost) nothing to think about, just, change the graphics settings to the maximum and, enjoy the ride !!
Installing OpenPlanet also works perfectly, but does require installing vcrun2022 to work, and launch options WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Only changes I made are setting L4 to T and L5 to O
Multiplayer chat can be difficult to read for some.
Online still works great given how old Maniaplanet as a whole is.
Maniaplanet requires the touchscreen to navigate, which can be mildly inconvenient if you're playing on a TV.
Runs pretty much flawlessly with little to no tinkering.
Alt-tabbing out of the game while in fullscreen makes it go black and you need to relaunch the game to fix it. Borderless Fullscreen works around this successfully

Unknown(< 15 minutes with Proton)i'm not a fan of valley, i dislike the feel, and it seems like a reskin of stadium. due to this, I only tested the first track. reset it a few times, and then left. so i'll say it's not a comprehensive test. I also installed this via the mania launcher, which is installed via canyons, which i DID test for quite some time. if canyon is a indication (and it should be, they are basically tweaks of eachother game code wise), then it should hold up perfectly like it did.

Unknown(2+ hours with Proton)I experience a couple of crashes to desktop when loading a track. I also encountered a glitch where the rankings info that displays after completing a track lost its text but I wasn't able to reproduce it after closing and restarting the game.

Everything worked fine, only comment is that installing the other trackmania games via steam does not share the files, so for example, opening valley but trying to play stadium will require downloading the files again (therefore duplicated on your machine)
