If you're already use to really low settings its honestly fine. Definitely suggest better hardware but you can actually experience the game.
gamemoderun %command%
Will not launch w/o the launh options
Some text in the meditation menu is cut off in 16:10
The low fog setting looks worse on the Deck, and opening menus sometimes cull a lot of the scenery.
Most stuff is a stuttery (but locked) 30ps
Highly suggest the "Ultra+ Unofficial Hotfixes" mod, the stuttering is much better in bad areas.

set 800x500 in cog menu before starting. set game to low graphics, borderless window. disable in-game FSR2 (slower, uglier than NIS) enable NIS upscaling in steam side bar. set 12watts in side bar. disable sidebar frame cap, and enable allow tearing. (fixes low fps in cut scenes)
Change subtitles size in accessibility settings
My Tinker steps seem to fix slowdown in cutscenes, more stable image quality, and keeps frame rates up 28-40 with playable input lag.

set 12 watts, set 800x500 in cog men before lanching, set NIS in sidebar
increased text size in accessibility settings
in game FSR2 slower than steamdeck NIS or FSR
Great game! would recommend.

Although not perfect, the game is now enjoyable on SD. Cryoutilities is essential, otherwise you'll encounter hard freezes quickly.
Install Cryoutilities with default settings
FPS cap to 30, all settings low, FSR performance
no cloud save, use other software to backup

UMA buffer size set to 4G. FPS cap at 30.
UMA Buffer set to 4G. FPS cap at 30
Sometimes EA Play required manually login. Cloud saving never works in my case.

Cap the framerate to 30 fps
There are dips in certains areas especially Koboh
Slight bugs
Cap the framerate to 30 fps along with proton hotfix for compatibility. Change the OS channel to Main (Ver. 3.7) from dev options in the settings. Cryoutilities is recommended but not required as it can be played without it. Change ingame settings to lowest for better results. Can keep 4gb vram from bios as well.

maytheperformancebewithyou and other similar but manual made UE4 file tweaks
Sometimes required manually switching out of EA Launcher window after launch
The menu text does not resize to fit the 800p resolution
Missing textures were hard to spot and always at a distance
Mouse on menus does not work consistently
It's not the low frames, but the inconsistency of frames. This is not unique to running on linux.
Only two gameplay crashes, the rest were from me turning textures up too high (stay bellow High)
Need to select the correct resolution in the menu and force the game to close before it resets it inorder to maintain the setting.
The inconsistent frametimes in this game make 80fps feel like 25, and on the Deck I was only hit 25fps-35fps. IMO it feels like a 15fps experience, and in an action game with parries that just unplayable. Cutscenes drop bellow 10fps (once they stop running at 1fps as they always do when they start). I don't think the "typical gamer" would enjoy it on my Windows PC either, its only barely jankier here.

During the forest array I had a portion of the ground not fully load in for 30 seconds
the forest array performs very poorly with dips down to 6 fps and 15 fps average
The "maytheperformancebewithyou" mod is absolutely critical to having a good time on deck, otherwise runs perfectly ok

Limit refresh rate to 20 or 40
Launcher occasionally needs to re-login which prevents the game from opening automatically
With low settings across the board the game is generally playable, but some areas (notably an early area with lots of dust particles eddying around) cause drastic framerate drops
I was expecting more crashes given some of the reports I've heard, but only had 1 or 2 in the first ~20 hours of gameplay
CryoUtilities recommended optimizations seemed to help. For in-game visual settings I had everything set to low, though generally setting FSR to Quality made the game look much nicer with minimal performance impact. In some areas high texture quality was also OK.

If you're OK with 30fps and the fact that this game runs at all on a handheld gaming system, and absolute lowest graphics, then YES.
CryoUtilities - Swap File increase to 16GB
Would be nice if the text was just a little bit easier to read.
The game assets take a while to load even on absolute lowest settings. The interior of the ship uses the lowest poly models for up to 10+ seconds before loading the higher poly models. It takes a long time for textures to stop being blurry and assets just take a long time to reach higher poly LODs due to the extreme toll this game takes on the Steam Deck's 16GB of memory. This game really requires 32GB in my opinion, but as of writing this review, a 32GB model of the Steam Deck doesn't exist yet.
Sometimes the input feels a bit laggy, but that's because I'm capping the game at 30fps, and it's a miracle that this game runs at all because it maxes out the memory. So, occasional input lag occurs where my character doesn't jump exactly when I press the button, or he doesn't dodge or swing his lightsaber exactly when I press the button.
This game ran like crap prior to the latest Jedi Survivor Patch. Now, it only sometimes runs like crap. I installed CryoUtilities and increased the Swap file to 16GB. Now, the game runs a lot better, is a lot more stable, and I don't seem to be hard crashing as much.
When fast traveling to other areas, there's so much data being flushed out of ram and loaded into ram, that the game has a high probability of crashing the entire system. That's why I installed CryoUtilities and enabled the recommended changes which enables Swappiness and increases the Swap file to 16GB. After doing this, the game appears to be a lot more stable. Now, the game has managed to avoid crashing despite some severe hiccups in the framerate when loading different areas, traveling to different planets, or doing a 180 inside my ship.
This game is unplayable without any tinkering because the game will simply crash if you attempt to fast load to another area. The massive amount of data going in/out of the ram will inevitably cause the entire game or system to crash. CryoUtilities with Swappiness enabled and 16GB swap file is absolutely necessary for this game to run without stability issues.

The game runs at 25-30fps with alls LOW settings, FSR2 Performance and May the performance be with you mod.
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl %command%
Text is very small. Mediation screen is not fully visible on left & right.
I ran into crashes every 10min before modifying settings to reduce heat.
When I started playing the game crashed every 10min. I thought it was just the game having issues. Then I read a review here on ProtonDB stating he had same experience and could counter it by reducing HEAT. I changed my max TDP to 14W and GPU to 1500Mhz max. Installed Decky Fantastic plugin and set the fan to max RPM above 55° C and et voila. The game ran stable for over 1.5h without crashes. None since then. Indeed HEAT ISSUES, never ran into such problems before, wow. At the moment 12h in the game and only very few FPS drops below 25fps. It's really not great but it's PLAYABLE on the Deck and that is what matters to me.
I'm running Steam OS 3.4.8 (Preview Channel). 8GB Swap File, Swapiness 50, Huge Memory Pages ON, 4GB VRAM set via BIOS. Forced Proton Experimental and RADV_PERFTEST=gpl enabled. Furthermore I'm using "May the Performance Be With Your" Mod which gave me 2-10fps more depending on location. Would not recommend buying the game on the deck if you have other options.
As long as you are happy with the low FPS and los graphics quality, the game is playable and you get to enjoy the story
Some times have to start the game twice for it to pass the EA louncher
Characters faces don't look great, sometimes even missing the entire head. Most commonly fucsia or green bright colours around the hair, beard...
This greatly changes depending on the area, sometimes I'm on a stable 30FPS, sometimes it dees as los as 5
If you want high quatily graphics and high FPS, play on another system.
CryoUtilities, Bios 4gb ram dedicated
Maxxed at 30 Frames and set to intrograted graphics
You have to mess with it to get it to work. Does not work straight out of box.
FPS limited to 25, GPU set to 1000, TDP limit 10 watts (the game crashed due to overheating (instantly on detailled animations), this helps playing longer until the game crashes (45 minutes+)
Before update 3 no crashes, with update 5 constant crashes. After Trying Proton GE and all variations of the steam os build channels (stable/beta/preview), what fixed it was Steam OS preview, proton experimental, and heat reducing measures described in the battery section. Plus disabling the new fan control in the systems setting.
Overheating
The game is great 🙌- but it' frustrating if it crashes after you beat a boss but before you reach a meditation point to save the game 🧐. Restricting energy consumptions helps prevent crashes in my case, I'm happy that Patch 5 now runs on my steam deck 🙏
i had crashes and never pass the iniial video. but i installed CrytoUtilities2.0. i just used standard recommended settings, and run
crashes
crash
i used drive maintnance also
25-35 FPS. Occasional dips below 10.
Playable, but not for high FPS lovers. GE-Proton7-55. Crashes constantly on my windows 10, 2070 super, i9, but oddly no crashes on the deck yet.
The game work now with the latest fix of performance of the game

Very poor performance between 14-20 fps. Never hit 30 fps.
I request refund, this game not enjoying since only 20 fps. Already capped fps to 40 fps on the Deck, but still no effect, i set everything to low in-game settings, but still no help. Always 20 fps.
Desktop with qWine to install EA App.
Steam Desktop mode was able to run it however it was stuck at such a Low fps that it was not playable.
Steam "Game" mode was unplayable and EA App Crashed 2 times. It was then not able to log me in with Touch screen, Keyboard (Bluetooth), or Touchpads. Could not Even Alt+ F4!!!
Used specific settings mentioned by cbennettjames
Followed suggestions from cbennettjames
Touchscreen is required for EA launcher to click continue.
Avoid for now.
Game runs locked at 30FPS on Steam Deck with my noted tweaks. Only issue is the game's optimization & seemingly random hard crashes.
Game Requires Optimization. Steamdeck hardware is capable of handling it.
First lauch will stutter bad, once you reach the main menu just restart the game... You'll thank me later.

I am happy to continue Cal's journey, it feels like you just continue where you left off in Fallen Order.
Capped FPS to 40 (although apart from the menu the game rarely hit the limit)
At times EA asked me to repeat the login
Barious crashes a xouple of hours in the game. Might be SteamOS preview and not the game though...
The performance on a steam deck does not surprise me. Low settings will give you 15-30 fps depending on the location you play in. FSR settings don't seem to affect the performance too much. Resolution does so a little (1024x768 is the lowest one to choose). It's still great fun.
Maybe since I just finished The Last Of Us Part I which was ranging in a similar fps area. You could use its medium graphic preset there, maybe due to th fact that it offer FSR lower resolutions to work with.
Getting back to work through the senator's yacht now 👋!
Game only runs at 20 FPS which isn't unplayable on the deck..
The game stuttered when I first launched it but restarting the game seemed to fix it.
for now, the game is not stable, and it's impossible to play it without crash or stuttering.
many stuttering during intro movies (before de game menu) and game scenes
Crash everytime, the question is not "how many?" but "when?"...
even with the lowest settings of the game, I barely got an average 25 fps, with frames stuttering and crashes.
For now, it's unjoyable to play it.
