The game runs surprisingly smoothly, in my opinion even better than in Windows.
The first start takes a while, because the intro video is bugged as hell. But if you keep it simply running for a while, the menu launches and you can play. For future starts you can simply skip the video
Games likes to start on wrong screen. It helps to use the window mode, move the game to the screen you like, and hit "ALT + ENTER"
In Windows the game used to keep crashing at different PCs, but runs great in Linux (Tested with Proton 5.0.9)
Crashing after loading black screen

Black screen and exits
The black screen covers part of my desktop, and some corruption is visible elsewhere. It could be due to my window manager (sway). The game then exits. The same happens with the 64bits version of the game (accessible trough DO="%COMMAND%" ; PROTON_LOG=true eval "${DO/Bin32/Bin64}"
), for instance. (note: using sway)

Doesn't start. Punkbuster errors before it'll load.
