Since update 18.03.24 works out of the box fine on Steamdeck. Played @720p on a 1080p monitor using FSR with round 35fps.
Disabled "Dynamic Global Illumination" on Steam Deck (or Windows), settings get synced via cloud sync.
Ran fine using Proton 8 and 9. I had to turn off the graphic setting "Dynamic Global Illumination" on Windows, because settings get synced (as part of the save game) and I had this setting turned on there. With this setting turned on, the game crashes when entering the menu. With the setting off, everything works fine.
The setting can also be adjusted on the Steam Deck, where the game automatically turns it off (apparently). Since I already had save games, I couldn't (easily) test what the default setting is. I assume with no prior settings in place, it will also just work.
All other graphic settings could be turned to maximum and it ran fine, also in local multiplayer and with Remote Play Together.
Loads the menu and then crashes
I tried Proton 7, 8, 9 Beta, Experimental and GE 8.31. 7 doesn't even show the loading screen, all others do, but then crash back to desktop. The log file of the game doesn't indicate anything suspicious.
Crash while start
Steam with or without Proton - crash (every Version)
Bottles install steam soda or wine - crash
Lutris install steam - crash
Tested multiple Proton Versions. Always Crashes after a few seconds.
Crashes on startup
Tried using the default Proton and 7.0-6
Crashes on startup
Tested multiple Proton Versions
Will crash when booting up if using a 8.x Proton or similar GE version.
Crashes with default Proton 8.x. Will also crash when exiting the game even with Proton 7.0-6, but that's a minor issue.
Not working
I tried to switch to Proton Experimental and to GE-Proton 8.25, it didn't help. I hear menu music and then a popup that the game crashed on a black screen.
