black background and first file requested in gameplay can't be dropped onto the window
launching from steam it shows unity splash but window transparency doesn't work so most of the screen just becomes black.
the window also keeps trying to get focus which makes it impossible to switch windows and the taskbar panel flashes.
initial dialogue works until it asks for a file which i found to exist at steamapps/compatdata/1275670/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/L@umi~.data
.
i managed to use kill -s stop
on the game (via plasma's KRunner), making it possible to switch windows to find the file but i couldn't find a way to drop it onto the window.
(using plasma 6 with X11 and KWin)

This game was built with Windows in mind, sorry...
The literal first desktop interaction ("GIVE ME THIS FILE") does not work: no file can be found anywhere... sad, because it looked promising...
It flat out won't work. Don't bother to this game.

Playable? Yes and no.
Obviously, the interactive parts of the game and Windows are close to unplayable, and the difference between Linux and Windows is just too great. Coincidentally, however, I got to play the platform jumping mini-game section on Windows before, and after the archive was synced, that section worked perfectly on Linux. So objectively speaking, half of the game is playable on Linux.
However, I still hope that one day Wine will be able to support this kind of game designed for Windows perfectly, and Rhythm Doctor's 2-X level also make a lot of use of the window movement effects that I thought were highly dependent on Windows, but they are still perfectly playable on the Linux platform!

do not play this on linux bro
black screen
game doesnt work

Works Great in the non-desktop parts!

This game is clearly not designed with Linux in mind, and it would take a lot of work from the dev to make it work.

Broken, can't progress at all due to requiring a Windows desktop for everything
don't bother trying on linux

Game launches but does not let you proceed.
Game launches, and thats it. You cannot do anything except talk to her. And the desktop is black so that's a bummer.

Completely borked, requires Windows to work at all.

Designed to interact with a Windows system and as such it can't give you the tasks to complete such as run paint and draw something or open a folder and move a file.
For what it's worth what does work, works well but given how deeply it was made for the Windows desktop environment it is a game that won't work on Linux without a native version, anything more than that and well you may as well boot into a VM or Just run Windows on another drive to play this. This is down to a design limitation rather than a technical one.

It's impossible
It is impossible to enter the game in any of the launch types, since the game directly works with the desktop and applications on it.

This game will pretty much need a native version to work.

The game starts to run and you're able to see some dialogue with a few attempts but this game was too designed around the windows system that the only solution is for the developer to make a Linux native solution or the creation of a Linux compatibility app that emulates the windows operating system completely.

Does Not Playable
You can't play it as it can't even create a file, instead it makes context menu. Also it's size is worg, there's some artifacts and it forbid controlling your desktop. Probably there's workaround by enabling virtual desktop, but I haven't tested it yet.

Just not built for a Linux desktop
traps all input
Game wants to run, you can get through some dialog, but since all input is captured by the game, you can't interact with the desktop like the game is supposed to. Also, instead of showing the desktop it overlays a black window.

-- Next Fest demo -- Does not work, and most likely won't ever work without a Linux-specific build.
-- Next Fest demo -- The game interracts with the system, including displaying graphics on your desktop, adding files on your system, and opening default Windows applications. This functionality does not work correctly with Proton. When the game tries to go back to the desktop and show graphics over it, the game appears to crash and/or freeze. The game almost certainly would need to be updated to deal with this, and the developer has stated that this won't happen at least for the initial release.
