Flawless experience, one of the best ways to experience the Utawarerumono trilogy.
TDP limit set to 5, fps to 30.
Crackling audio during the opening sequence.
Runs perfectly fine on Steam deck, Lovely VN to play on it.
Works flawlessly
since this is an anime styled game I would expect problem when video is playing, but nothing like that happening. And the game works amazingly out of the box.
Runs perfectly fine.
Runs perfectly on the Steam Deck, and the flaws of this port (720p/30fps cap) are less of a problem on this device.
Very minor crackling/stuttering sound during the opening FMV
Working as intended
To note, I used a custom proton (7.02) to play the game and my experience was good. A while ago this game used to crash at the title screen, but the problem seems to be resolved in later versions of proton (7.02 and experimental) so it shouldn't be needed to pass "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%". Also, the game's framerate is limited to 30 fps and the native in-game resolution is 1280x720. If one wishes to play fullscreen or at a higher resolution, like a 16:9 aspect ratio ratio, then one way is to install/use gamescope and enable AMD FSR for upscaling
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
did once work, now it doesn't start anymore.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Using Wine D3D (PROTON_USE_WINED3D) prevents game from crashing at title menu
Game ran on steam-native with Valve's proton w/o the steam runtime and optimized for specific hardware. Moreover, to properly disable esync and fsync I was required to edit user_settings.py
Got crackling if I didn't use PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90
Very infrequent crashes. Game is very generous with autosaves during battle (maybe every move?) so it's not really that big of a problem.
