You may need a more powerful PC to play this smoothly. Buy one Halo game and install the Master Chief launcher to test performance.
Game and sound effects often stutter and hurt your ears because of performance issues on regular hardware.
On a decent Intel-Linux laptop on lowest graphics settings and half resolution looking like the original Xbox release, Halo 2 still can't keep a stable framerate and frequently stutters which is frustrating for a shooter game.
The game may freeze or cause other apps to run slowly if you don't change the default Graphics settings.
Installing and setting up takes a while and requires a Microsoft account, but does work without extra configuration. I have also tried changing Proton versions and other settings to no avail.
Runs perfectly on Linux
A cute indie 2D platformer with some game elements from SMB3/World, and original levels, story cutscenes and characters
No native Linux version on Steam, but the Windows/Proton version runs fine
I should add a few notes from my other review. Steam does not let you download a Linux version, but automatically downloads the Windows version and runs it with Proton on Linux. Press Alt+Enter to go fullscreen. It also detected my PlayStation controller and showed the correct shape buttons in-game.
All Player and NPC character models do not display correctly
I can only see some parts of each character like eyes and hands during gameplay, cutscenes and the Player Creation screen. Sometimes the rest of the character texture can be seen flipped sideways and glitched out. Here are some screenshots - https://ibb.co/album/GnFvQd
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue since other reviews say the game works fine.
Game wouldn't start when launched through Steam, had to find the executable at ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Psychonauts
Used the Controller config from other reviews to fix my PS3 controller buttons. and changed to fullscreen.
Some pre-rendered cutscenes are stretched from 4:3 to widescreen and are low-resolution.
In the Pause Menu Journal, the mouse could not click menu items and I had to find a different part of the screen to select items, making it hard to even get to the Settings menu. Fixed by changing to fullscreen and my native screen resolution in Settings/Config.
PS3 controller buttons were mapped incorrectly and caused the camera to spin uncontrollably when connected, fixed with the Config file from other reviews.
