Tinker Steps:Changed configuration
Followed Kai's step to delete the install script, but not the step for forcing a different Proton version.
Completely optional, but also enabled FSR with a low sharpness setting, which clears up the text without too much over sharpening.

Reduced right trackpad sensitivity
Haven't played for too long yet, but so far there haven't been any issues running with the default version of Proton included in SteamOS.
