EAC/Fatshark issues prevent workarounds.
Delete /Steam/steamapps/compatdata/552500 Enable Beta "temporary_launcher_workaround - Bypass Launcher" Restart Steam Verify the game files Delete / Rename "WebView2Loader.dll" and MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe" ( you can find both here: /Steam/steamapps/common/Warhammer Vermintide 2/launcher) Run the game & select either "Bypass Launcher" (dx11) or "Bypass Launcher (dx12)"
Also tried without launcher workaround.
Official: EAC resources error, hangs at loading screen
Modded (no beta): Worked once, then hangs at loading screen.
Issue is with Fatshark/EAC, and cannot be worked around. I've tried avery trick from every report going over the past year since moving to Linux. If you're unlucky enough to get an EAC error you are forever locked out, no matter what you do.
%command% ; ./fix.sh
Remove MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe and Webview2Loader.dll from launcher folder.
Must be host, otherwise get kicked on Official Realm.
All thanks to Vapor Gayer. His script to run at launch is what bypassed the EAC issues I used to face. Place the following script in a text file named fix.sh and put it in the launcher folder.
#!/bin/bash awk -i inplace '{if ($1 ~ /StateFlags/) sub(/4/, "100"); print;}' ../../../appmanifest_552500.acf
No longer works with latest patch
%command% ; ./fix.sh
Remove MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe and Webview2Loader.dll from launcher folder to bypass WebView2 issue.
Fatshark seem to be maliciously attacking Linux users. The EAC issues in this game are a joke. We used to be able to correct them using a /fix.sh file to correct the flag errors in the EAC files, preventing the "untrusted user" bug. This no longer works, and there appears to be no way to correct any more. The game hangs on loading store items, with the untrusted EAC on-screen message. Cannot even get to the main menu any more.
bypass launcher beta
You have to use the launcher bypass beta, but since the EAC update in the latest patch, I'm now reliably able to get into the game after years of untrusted messages. I've yet to try playing with a group to see if the Linux user still needs to be host, but this patch seems to have solved the biggest issue Linux users faced.
