Won't launch without specifying a compatibility tool (complains about "QuestViewer not being properly installed" or something like that). Tested with Proton Experimental, Proton 9.0-2 and GEProton9-11.
gamemoderun %command% -r_show_build_info false
Reducing the resolution messes up the mouse sensitivity in borderless mode, and fullscreen mode tries to change the system resolution with xrandr (which doesn't work on Wayland and causes it to not scale to fullscreen). Workaround: run through Gamescope with a set resolution there.
Seems to run laggy for around a minute from the start of the match. It's smooth after though.
Playing through Proton works fine too and there is no issue with the screen resolution.
Doesn't launch with any workarounds
On dx11 (default) crashes immediately with "AssertionFailed: IsValidIndex(Index)". On dx12 crashes immediately with "Fatal error!". Tried Proton Experimental, Proton 6.3 and GE 9-5, as well as multiple workarounds from protondb.
Boots to menu, requires hiding the GPU with flag. Still crashes.
DXVK_CONFIG="dxgi.hideIntelGpu = True" %command%
Requires using the "dxgi.hideIntelGpu = True" dxvk flag.
Crashes after the intro vid.
The game seems to experience a memory leak and fills the memory in a matter of seconds, then crashes with "Fatal error!". Lowering the graphics to the minimum doesn't help.
"-dx12" still causes UE to say that "DX12 is not supported on your system."
[Intel Iris Xe] Works fine and with okay framerates (50~60 FPS) at Medium, 720p. See below for notes on running on this hardware.
Very low texture quality in the first area and later on near the ending. All other areas are fine.
The memory leak issue could sometimes cause Linux to start swapping memory and introducing stutters, they were very brief though (see my previous reports).
Cutscenes do not work in D3D11 with Proton, TKG-Proton or GE-Proton (it does work in Bottles with Soda 9.0 though). I cannot test -d3d12 because VKD3D does not support SM6.6 on Intel Iris Xe.
I needed to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM to finally be able to play this game on my Intel Iris Xe GPU, otherwise a memory leak would cause the game to crash as it tries to allocate too much VRAM. D3D12 mode is not possible on this GPU.
