Tested coop, works great. I did however have to manually select to use Proton for this game, as it chose Steam Linux Runtime as standard.

Got game launching to menu. Crashes when starting new game

The game originally crashed while loading (could see three dots bouncing, then crash). Forcing Proton 5.13-1 got me into the menu.
I can click around and hear some music (very crackly to begin with, gets better over time), I can even join a multiplayer-lobby. However, as soon as i click "New Game" it freezes, and after a short while it crashes

Multiplayer works perfectly, singeplayer crashes on launch. You can, however, play multiplayer alone.
