Upon starting the game, a small unity load window appears, finishes, then the game does not start.

No documentation online about any potential workarounds (or if there is, its swallowed up in a sea of documentation for TES: Oblivion), and both experimental and latest full versions of Proton do nothing to allow the game to run. Completely understandable due to it being a newly release early access title, but for the time being the game is borked.
