Does not work with Steam from snap, but works with Steam from apt

Fist I installed Steam from snap i.e. snap install steam I was able to install styx, but when I launched it it just started for 2-3 seconds and then I could start it again, no pop-ups or nothing. Tried with Proton Experimental, 8 and 7. Tried with launch option
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%. Never got it to launch, so I did a snap remove steam.
Then I installed Steam as an apt-package following https://repo.steampowered.com/steam/.
That worked out of the box. It launches and looks good, I am ready to start gaming now.
