The dev has had a ticket open with Steam since July 2024 (5 months and aging). There is no workaround currently, previous workarounds no longer work. At this time, the game is not playable on Steam or Steam Deck using general generic Proton compatibility.

Without any launch options, game crashes without any indicators.
With "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" set as launch options, the game opens a black screen and then crashes back to desktop before rendering anything, including the menu.
