As as you enjoy this type of game, I see no reason a typical gamer wouldn't enjoy playing this game on Linux as I've played it.
I get Oops... We have detected a crash in your game, on startup. The only thing that seems to not work is Steam Achievements, as I did not get any during my intial play on Linux (around 5 ish hours), but when I launched the game on a Windows machine I got achievements and no Oops.. message. Aside from that that the game seems to run great.
Installed dv9k as suggested by another report (https://github.com/Joshua-Ashton/d9vk) which solved black eyes missing textures and some screen flickering. It runs full screen and windowed, after installing d9vk to the proton wine prefix for it without issues.
It runs, but only on low or medium settings. High settings I get nothing but black textures, medium settings I noticed some graphical issues. When quality is set to low everything seems to work and run fine.
It ran out of the box, no issues, played for a little more than an hour on co-op had quality set to high.
